In the 1990s, agricultural land on the farm fell into near decline.

In 1999, students initiated a program aimed at restoring the farm.

When the government announced plans in 2008 to reduce the farm’s territory, a campaign was launched to save it. This event triggered a political shift, and on December 1, 2009, it was officially declared that the farm would remain.

In 2011, the area where the farm is located was designated as a “green academic zone.”

Farm Territory

The farm consists of two small structures used for various purposes.

A 300-meter composting facility processes organic waste, transforming it into soil fertilizer.

The historic orchard is home to seventy apple varieties, as well as grapes, raspberries, blueberries, truffles, and hops.

Eco-Market

Between June and October, the farm holds weekly farmers’ markets, offering buyers organic agricultural products.

On Saturdays, produce is sold directly on the farm’s premises, while on Wednesdays, sales take place on the university campus.

Some products are even purchased by local Vancouver restaurants known for their eco-friendly menus, as this trend in the food industry is quite popular.

Educational Activities
